©2020 Valerio Griffa Lofoten is known for a distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, inside the Arctic Circle. The name, coming from old norse, means ‘fox foot’. One of the world’s largest seasonal fisheries takes place there, from February until April. Lofoten is full of Arctic cod migrating from the Barents Sea to reproduce in the archipelago waters.
